Scholarships Available For Students Interested in Organic Farming

High Plains OCIA of Nebraska, Inc. is offering scholarships of up to $1,000 for the 2018/2019 school year.

A chapter of OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association), High Plains OCIA of Nebraska, Inc. is located in the western part of Nebraska. The chapter includes members from Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, and in all areas of the panhandle of Nebraska and parts of the sand hills.

Since 1998 High Plains OCIA of Nebraska, Inc. has been active in the education of organic farming, organic agriculture and organic foods industry. The chapter supports future organic farmers with its scholarship program. Students interested in making a difference in organic agricultural fields are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.

Applicants may submit their entry directly to the Chapter Administrator now through June 1. The Chapter's Board of Directors will choose the winner based on a letter detailing the applicant's interest and/or activities in organic production, processes, education, or information. Applicants will be notified later in June on the status of their application.
