Organic wine tasting

Organic wines are featured every Wednesday at a free tasting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Heath's Natural Foods, 600 E. Third Ave., New Smyrna Beach. Wines from all around the globe will be available.

Consultant Elaine DeJesus will be on hand as you sample organic, biodynamic, no sulfates added and sustainably grown wines.

Five wines to sample

Sample five wines, including an Italian Aglianico and Spanish Tempranillo Blanco, at the weekly wine tasting from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, with wine sommelier Mark Chappell at 95 and Vine, 1665 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange.

Cost is $12; $7 for wine club members. Participants receive 10 percent off single bottles in the tasting.

Mr. Dunderbak’s beer tasting

Mr. Dunderbak’s will host a beer tasting from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at its location inside the Volusia Mall (near Sears), 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach.

The 10 beers we plan on featuring are: Southern Tier Warlock Imperial Stout with Pumpkin, Duvel Single Fermented Belgium Golden Ale, Bold City Big John’s Apricot Wheat, Tampa Bay Brewing Gourds Gone Wild, Sierra Nevada Otra Vez Gose style with Lime and Agave, Weihenstephaner Festbier, Alcatraz Brewing 2X IPA, Green Man Lager, Anderson Valley Chai Solstice and Atlantic Beach Duality IPA.

Beachside brunch

Enjoy a beachside brunch with live music from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Azure Oceanfront American Kitchen, 2637 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach Shores.

Greek cooking class

Learn how to prepare a variety of classic Greek dishes with Chef Elaine Pitenis 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach.

Students will cook a pastitso dinner, which is Greek-style lasagna, with spinach and feta triangles, stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad and galaktoboureko.

Cost is $80 per student. Recipe booklets, a wine tasting and food sampler take-home containers will be offered in this class for each student at no extra cost.

Lilian Place Victorian Tea

Lilian Place Heritage Center will host a Victorian tea 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the 1884 museum, 1000 S. Peninsula Drive, Daytona Beach. There will be scones, pastries and teas, as well as a walk-through tour of the Lilian Place museum.
