A 50s rock ‘n’ roll themed pub is coming to east London, complete with a jukebox, slot machines and old fashioned TVs.

Named Be-Bop-A-Lula and opening up on Green Lanes, the novelty site will also serve diner-style food with puntastic dish names, and host regular live bands and quizzes.

Options will include snacks such as Little Richards (that’s mini pork sausages in honey mustard to you) and Frikin Wings coated in either barbecue or buffalo sauce, along with The Famous Elvis Sandwich stuffed with - you guessed it - mashed banana, peanut butter and bacon, a Hound Dog saveloy with fried caramelised onions, BB King Ribs slathered in sauce, and Fats Domino Pizza topped with both mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.

Naturally there are some burgers, too. The Be-Bopa-Burger features aged beef, tomatoes, gherkins, and mustard, while the Chick Berry Burger rocks chicken breast in homemade jerk seasoning.

The space will feature diner-style booth seating and walls plastered with artwork and posters from the era, while a rack of 30 old guitars will be strung up above the length of the bar.

Strictly pre-60s karaoke is also promised, along with live sports and a late license until 2am on weekends, while weekly Rock ‘n’ Roasts sessions pair rock ‘n’ roll tunes with your Sunday lunch.

If you need more convincing, the owners have previous with this sort of thing. The pub is from the same people as movie-themed The Alma http://thealmapubn1.com/home near Canonbury and Hitchcock-themed North By Northwest close to Essex Road.

Get ready for some be-bopping, London.
