Grand Rapids-based organic grocery delivery company expands to Ann Arbor

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Doorganics, a Grand Rapids-based organic grocery delivery company, is expanding to the Ann Arbor market, a month after expanding into Southeast Michigan.

Last month, Doorganics announced it was moving up expansion plans following the sudden closure of Door to Door Organics.

Moving into a new market on such short notice wasn't easy, says Mike Hughes, founder and CEO of Doorganics.

Doorganics recently hired three former Door to Door Organics delivery drivers and is currently hiring for two more positions. The firm expects to add a total of 10 new jobs and open a second distribution facility this year.

"We've always been cautious about growth while working to create a profitable and scalable business model for grocery delivery," said Hughes. "After another year of successful growth, we're more confident than ever in our product and process and are excited to bring Doorganics to more Michigan communities."

Doorganics now delivers to 35 zip codes in Southeast Michigan. The company's footprint extends to Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven and Ann Arbor.

The delivery is set up so customers can shop online for groceries from more than 150 different Michigan-made items including farm eggs, pastured meats, fresh baked breads, cheeses as well as organic deli salads and prepared meals.

Delivery is free, and customers have full control of their delivery schedule inside an online member portal.
