(COLORADO) — According to a trend study by BetColorado, Colorado ranks fifth in the nation for number of Star Wars fans, behind Alaska (#4), New Hampshire (#3), Idaho (#2), and Utah (#1).

It is interesting to note that none of the movies were filmed in Colorado, nor is there any theme park or amusement ride in Colorado dedicated to the franchise. Despite that, Colorado has more fans than most states.

A possible reason Colorado ranks highly on the list for most Star Wars fanatics: the first Star Wars Celebration, which preceded the release of “Episode I: The Phantom Menace” was held in Denver in 1999. Also, George Lucas’ wife, Mellody Hobson, became one of the co-owners of the Denver Broncos in 2022.

Or it could just be that the Force is with us.

Whatever the reason, Colorado will most certainly be celebrating Star Wars Day on Saturday, May 4. May the fourth be with you!
