Restaurant and food briefs

Downtown Louie’s joins Blended Burger Project: The James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project as returned, challenging restaurants around the country to create a healthier, more sustainable burger for their guests. The first round is determined by online voting at jamesbeard.org/blendedburgerproject. Downtown Louie’s Lounge is one of five Michigan restaurants to have stepped up to the challenge. Their submission is called “So Mushroom for Activities” and is made with Farm Field Table Michigan-raised dry aged beef.

New bottles for Valentine: Valentine Distilling Co. is readying to release a new look for its vodka bottles. The new design features vertical ridges around the bottle. The new bottles still feature the spirit company’s foxy brand icon, Belle.
