The Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest is returning for its sixth year on July 28—this time, with an estimated 90 food carts in tow.

Billed as the largest one-day food truck festival in Canada, the free event will shut down a large stretch of Columbia Street in downtown New Westminster to accommodate food trucks like Fat Duck Mobile Eatery, Reel Mac and Cheese, Japadog, and Old Country Pierogi.

Attendees can expect to gorge on everything from Thai-style cauliflower “wings” from the plant-based Rolling Cashew to fluffy meat-stuffed arepas from Come Arepa to sugary, soft serve–filled chimney cones from the Praguery.

Non-food vendors include boutique-on-wheels Ardillas United and travelling book shop Iron Dog Books.

Also featured at the alfresco affair will be six beer gardens and a live-music lineup curated by the Arts Council of New Westminster. In addition, guests can browse locally made handicrafts and even more edible goods at the Anvil Centre (777 Columbia Street) and New West Farmers Market.

The Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest takes place from 4 to 10 p.m. and is organized by the Downtown New Westminster BIA.
