FMI was pleased to partner with the National Retail Federation to bring food retailers to NRF PROTECT 2018 this week. Here’s a collection of photos from the event.

Deborah Ferguson the anchor of NBC 5 today moderated a panel with Mike Krell, vice president of operations at the Houston Division The Kroger Company; Joe Matthews, vice president of loss prevention at Academy Sports + Outdoors; Jim “Mack” McIngvale, philanthropist and owner of Gallery Furniture; and B.J. Powers, vice president at The Home Depot. They discussed how they came together to help the community during the storms of 2017.
FMI hosted eight 20 minute presentations on the exhibit floor in our FMI Lounge. The presentations were educational in nature, and allowed for an open dialogue between exhibitors and conference attendees.

Rod Wheeler, founder and CEO of the Global Food Defense Institute, presented to a sold out breakfast. After serving several years as a street hardened, tough homicide detective on the streets of Southeast Washington DC, Rod Wheeler made a transition to the private sector. His focus is on terrorism and homeland security. Wheeler discussed shifts from our thinking about terrorism, workplace violence, racial and sexual diversity and more.
