Pepper Food Service Brings Japanese DIY Restaurant Pepper Lunch to NY!

NEW YORK, March 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cook It Your Way and Enjoy! is the motto of Pepper Lunch, the Japanese fast-casual DIY teppan restaurant that will open its first NYC location at 243 West 54th Street on March 21st. With high-quality ingredients, reasonable prices, and the unique “cook-your-own-meal” concept, Pepper Lunch will add more sizzle to New York City’s food experiences.

Owned by Pepper Food Service Co., Ltd, the company behind the Japanese Steakhouse chain Ikinari Steak, Pepper Lunch was founded in Japan in 1994 and has expanded to over 470 stores in 16 countries all over the world including Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong. The chef and restaurateur Kunio Ichinose established Pepper Lunch with Pepper” being an essential spice used in the food preparation, and “Lunch” referring to the reasonable prices offered all day.

At Pepper Lunch, every diner is their own master chef; they get to enjoy the excitement and entertainment of cooking up their own sizzling meal. After ordering at the counter, guests will be served their dish on a personal-size teppan iron platter heated to 500ºF. Customers then cook the “sizzling” ingredients to their preferred temperature. Since the teppan remains hot for more than 20 minutes, diners can enjoy the meal warm until the very last bite!

Pepper Lunch will center its menu on Steaks and Pepper Rice. Steak choices include the Hamburg Steak with Eggs ($12.50), the high-quality Angus Sirloin Steak ($20.90 for 8 ounce), and Chicken Steak ($12.50 for 8 ounce). Pepper Rice selections include their signature Classic Beef Pepper Rice ($11.50), as well as Eel Pepper Rice ($15.50), Salmon Pepper Rice ($12.10), and fun takes including Bacon Cheese Pepper Rice ($11.50) and Sambar Pepper Rice ($12.00). Sides include classic steak accompaniments such as Onion Rings and French Fries, while rice, miso soup and salads are offered to complete a balanced meal. Beverages include beer, wine and soft drinks.

Pepper Lunch first expanded to the United States in 2018 with a Los Angeles location; Las Vegas and Houston are scheduled to open this year
